It continues to amaze me how many people don’t grasp that autistic children, miracle of miracles, grow up into autistic adults!

I mean, really. What’s supposed to happen? We disappear at age 18? We’re ~magically~ cured the exact moment that adulthood strikes? We’re in a perpetual Peter Pan state and stay childlike even after age 18? (Though granted, that last one would explain a lot about all the patronizing comments I see toward autistic adults…)

…Or do they assume we all just die by that point? -_-;;
